DC-196
Condenser MicrophoneThe DC-196 condenser microphone is designed for professional vocal and instrumental work, both on stage and in the studio. This microphone contains a large, rectangular membrane capsule that provides a full-bodied, exceptionally clean sound with natural brightness. The DC-196 has a variable polar pattern that is easily adjusted with a knob into three positions: omni, cardioid, and figure-eight. It is equipped with -12dB pre-attenuation, and is able to handle sound pressure levels (SPL) higher than 144dB.
The body of the DC-196 is made of solid brass, and connects with a standard 3-pin XLR connector. It is packaged in a black leatherette box and comes with a suspension shockmount. An individual frequency curve is also included.
