- Audio Technology Reviews the Milab BDM-01 'Dedicated' bass drum microphones; there's a lot of them on the market. Many of these, however, are dedicated to little more than a tolerance for high SPL. The bass drum is a complex instrument to record or amplify through a PA. A mic that's truly dedicated to this role needs to offer more than just the ability to endure an SPL barrage, though it's a good start. October 2009
- Resolution Magazine Reviews the Milab SRND 360 There have been number of different solutions over the last few years to the thorny problem of recording directly to multichannel formats. Jon Thornton encounters a multichannel mic that is clever and different. May 2009
- Andreas Scholl Reviews the Milab SRND 360 The flexibilty of this microphone is simply amazing. Even if I need a stereo 'only' recording today, having all six signals recorded will give me the opportunity to create a surround mix later on, so in a way using the SRND gives you future-proof surround capacity with the simplicity of only one microphone to place in the concert hall. - Sound on Sound Reviews the Milab DC196 There's no law to say that microphone diaphragms must be circular, and in fact a rectangular diaphragm such as the one inside this Swedish mic can offer some unique and useful characteristics. April 2007
- Resolution Magazine Reviews the Milab DC196 Used as a distant room microphone on a drum recording, the DC-196 sounds fabolous - something that I've noticed before with other Milab designs that use the rectangular capsule. Not only does everything sound balanced and natural, but there seems to be less in the way of objectionable room modes, and a detail to the HF elements that you wouldn't necessarily expect from its placement. - Audio Technology Reviews the Milab DC-196 A rectangular capsule housed in a tiny frame isn’t exactly typical of your garden-variety condenser microphone. But size (and shape) aren't everything, as they say.
